Zachary Hanson
Zachary Walker Hanson is an American musician, and member of the popular 1990s teen band Hanson. He was born in Arlington, Virginia, on October 22, 1985 into a family of four (his parents Walker and Diana Hanson, and brothers Isaac and Taylor). Zac was followed by his sisters Jessica, Avery and Zoe and brother Mackenzie. Earlier on, however, because of his father's job as an oil worker in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the family moved to places such as Ecuador, Venezuela and Trinidad and Tobago before moving back to Tulsa.
Zac, Taylor and Isaac were raised on music from the 1950s and 1960s and grew to love it. The boys started singing together almost as soon as Zac could talk. In 1992, the boys' parents realized their children had a special talent and helped them to make their first independant album, "Boomerang". The album was sold at live shows the boys held—basically just them singing a cappella verisons of the old songs they were raised on. As the boys and their talents grew, so did their instrest in the persuit of a musical career. Isaac, who had always idolized Chuck Berry, took up guitar. Taylor (who along with Ike had taken classical piano lessons) went to the keyboards and Zac got a set of drums from a friend's attic. The boys released a second independant record called "MMMBop". Then, one day during a summer show the boys ran into the man that would later sign them onto the Mercury record label. In March of 1997, the boys' first professional album, "Middle of Nowhere" was relased.
