山手 is the kanji for Yamate.
There are two Yamate areas in Yokohama city, Naka ward - one is the historic Yamate Bluff area, with the Foreigner's Cemetery and the Sacred Heart Cathedral. The other is the area around the Yamate station on the JR Keihin-Touhoku/Negishi line between Ishikawacho (石川町) and Negishi (根岸) stations.
