General Tomoyuki Yamashita was born 8 November1885, and was hanged for war crimes in 1946. He was the military comander of the Philippines prior to the US recapture of the islands. It is belived that billions of dollars in stolen gold from East Asia was hoarded in the Philippines during his tenure.
