Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 725 km² (280 mi²). 700 km² (270 mi²) of it is land and 25 km² (10 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 3.43% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 92,446 people, 30,187 households, and 24,481 families residing in the county. The population density is 132/km² (342/mi²). There are 31,405 housing units at an average density of 45/km² (116/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 82.00% White, 12.13% Black or African American, 0.45% Native American, 1.64% Asian, 0.10% Pacific Islander, 1.21% from other races, and 2.47% from two or more races. 3.62% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 30,187 households out of which 46.90% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 68.00% are married couples living together, 9.30% have a female householder with no husband present, and 18.90% are non-families. 13.80% of all households are made up of individuals and 3.40% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
