Rental shop
A rental shop is a store where a customer can borrow various products for a fee for a certain period of time before returning them. Typically, a customer must sign up for an account with the shop. If items are returned late, the shop usually charges late fees, which typically accumulate day by day.
The most common type of rental shop are video rental outlets, offering primarily movies, but often music or computer games as well.
Many motion pictures that do not perform well in theaters depend on the rental market for success, and some movies are released directly to the rental market without ever appearing in theaters.
Blockbuster Video is the largest and most popular video rental shop in the United States.
