• c = velocity of light in a vacuum
• β = v / c
• m = mass
• m₀ = rest mass
• γ = (1 - β²)^-1/2
• T = γ-1
• W = kinetic energy + rest mass energy

Equations

• Tm₀c² = kinetic energy

• m = m₀γ (definition of relativistic mass)

• p = mv = m₀γv (definition of relativistic momentum)

• W = γm₀c² = (m₀²c⁴ + c²p²)^1/2
