Prime Minister of Vietnam

The Prime Minister of Vietnam is the head of the executive branch of the Vietnamese government. The Prime Minister presides over the Vietnamese cabinet, and is responsible for appointing and supervising ministers. The Prime Minister is appointed by the President from among the members of the National Assembly.

Until 24 September 1992, the holder of this office was known simply as the Chairman of the Council of Ministers. Since that point, however, the title "Prime Minister" has been used.

The table below shows all Prime Ministers of Vietnam (including those who served before the current title was adopted) since the establishment of a unified government after the Vietnam War.
