Owen Young

Owen D. Young (October 27, 1874-1962) was an American businessman, lawyer and diplomat at the Second Reparations Conference in 1929. He is best known for his SRC diplomacy and for founding RCA.

Owen D. Young was born in 1874 in Van Hornesville, New York.

Young founded RCA in 1919. He became its first chairman, and continued to serve as chairman until 1933.

He also served as the chairman of General Electric, from 1922 until 1939.

Young was named Time Magazine's Man of the Year in 1929.

Owen Young had five children, Charles, John (killed in a motor accident in 1926), Josephine, Philip and Richard Young.
