O'Reilly and Associates

O'Reilly & Associates is an American publishing company, primarily focusing on books related to computer programming. They achieve distinctive branding by featuring a woodcut of an animal on many of their covers.

The company not only publishes a number of books but also hosts many annual conferences and provides online services for open source community. Among such conferences are O'Reilly Emerging Technology Conference (April 22-25, 2003) in California and O'Reilly Open Source Convention (July 7-11, 2003) in Portland, OR.

The "O'Reilly Network" publishes articles of interest to several distinct user communities - ONJava.com for Java developers, Perl.com for perl developers, MacDevCenter for Mac OS X developers and users, etc.
