Michoacán
Michoacán (formally: Michoacán de Ocampo) is a one of the 31 constituent states of Mexico. It borders the states of Colima and Jalisco to the west, Guanajuato to the north, México to the east, Guerrero to the south east, and the Pacific Ocean to the south.
It has an area of 59,864 km². In 2003 the population was estimated at 4,047,500 people. The state capital is the city of Morelia (previously known as Valladolid).
Michoacán also contains the cities of Apatzingán, Hidalgo, Jacona, Jiquilpan, La Piedad, Lázaro Cárdenas, Los Reyes, Paracho, Pátzcuaro, Puruándiro, Sahuayo, Uruapan, Zacapú, Zamora, and Zitácuaro, as well as the Pre-Columbian ruins of Tzintzuntzán.
Aguililla is a town in Michoacan that is famous for its beautiful butterflies.
