Matsuyama
Matsuyama (松山市; -shi) is the capital city of Ehime prefecture on the Shikoku island of Japan. It is located on the northeastern portion of the Matsuyama Plain.
The city is famous for hot springs and is home to Dogo hot spring, the oldest hot spring in Japan.
As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 477,204 and the density of 1,649.17 persons per km². The total area is 289.36 km².
The city was founded on December 15, 1889.
