List of films by gory death scene
This is a list of films in which special effects are used to have characters die violently and gorily.
Slicing by such a sharp object it takes some moments for victim to fall apart
- Cube, character sliced into small cubes and slowly disintegrates.
- Equilibrium, character's face sliced by sword, slowly slides off.
- Final Destination 2, character gets hit by a flying piece of barb wire fence, slicing him into several chunks
- Ghost Ship, cruise ship patrons sliced in half by fast-moving wire
- Highlander, villain's neck severed, head remains in place long enough for villain to chuckle.
- Johnny Mnemonic, character's torso sliced by laser whip.
- Kill Bill, top of character's head bisected by sword.
- Resident Evil, character sliced into small cubes by a moving grid of laser beams.
- Rob Roy, character gets cleaved by a sword and slowly peels in half
- The Meaning of Life (Monty Python): a soldier is sliced in half by sword.
- Thirteen Ghosts, a character is trapped between glass doors when they slam shut, and when they open, half off him slides off the other, revealing that the doors sliced him in two.
- Underworld, character's head bisected by sword.
Goring
Dipping or Spraying with acid
- Cube, fellow sprayed in face with acid.
- Who Framed Roger Rabbit, "The Shoe" gets dipped by Judge Doom and near the end Judge Doom falls to his own demise.
Fall into molten substance
Being eaten
- Jaws series, several characters eaten by a shark.
- Jurassic Park series, several charactes eaten by dinosaurs.
Organs ripped out while living
- A Fistful of Dynamite, one of the bandits didn't know about the short fuse
- Saving Private Ryan, soldier waits too long to insert sticky bomb into tank's track.
- The Thin Red Line, Woody Harrelson grabs grenade by pin during action and dives on it to save his battalion, creating a rather disturbing comical scenario where he "blew my [his] butt off."
