Kingston, Jamaica

Kingston (population 600,000) is the capital of Jamaica, in the southeast of the country. Founded in 1693, the city became the country's capital in 1872.

On January 14, 1907 an earthquake in Kingston killed more than a 1,000 people.

Kingston is served by Norman Manley International Airport.
