Jönköping is a Municipality in Jönköping County, in southern Sweden. The municipality covers an area of 1485.1 km². Of the total population of 117,095, 57,268 are male, and 59,827 are female. The population density of the community is 79 inhabitants per km².
The City of Jönköpong received its charter in 1284.
