Jarash
Jerash (ancient Gerasa) was a city of the Decapolis, its ruins now located in the Gilead region of Jordan.
The city was built in the 2nd century BC at the frontier of the Roman Empire. The ruins are spectacular, since there are a large number of monuments, and especially the Forum a place with a fine colonnade around it.
Other monuments are include Adrian's Arch, the Nymphaeum, the South Theatre, the Temple of Zeus, the Artemis Temple, and a smaller theatre in the north.
Churches
In the city there were 14 churches, with high-quality mosaics of the Byzantine era.
