James Murdoch
James Murdoch (born 1972) is the CEO of BSkyB and son of billionaire media tycoon Rupert Murdoch. He is also an executive vice-president of News Corporation and serves on the board NDS. He is married to Kathryn, with whom he has one child.
James Murdoch attended Horace Mann High School in New York City and graduated in 1991. He then studied at Harvard University, leaving in 1995.
In 1996 he set up Rawkus Records, an independent hip hop record label, with Brian Brater and Jarret Meyer, and joined News Corporation.
In May 2000 he was appointed chairman and chief executive of Star Television.
In 2003 he controversially became CEO of BSkyB, of which his father's News Corporation owned 38% at the time. He had previously been on the board of BSkyB.
