Infosys Technologies Limited (NASDAQ:INFY) is an Indian software house based in Bangalore, India, founded in 1981. It became a public limited company in India in 1992 and successfully completed an IPO in 1993. It is listed at Bombay Stock Exchange, National Stock Exchange of India, NASDAQ and Bangalore Stock Exchange. Seven IT professionals formed the company during the IT boom - N.R. Narayana Murthy, Nandan Nilekani, N.S. Raghavan, S. Gopalakrishnan, S.D. Shibulal and K. Dinesh. Nandan Nilekani is the Managing Director, President and CEO. Narayana Murthy is the Chief Mentor.

In 1987, it set up its first international office in US. In 1996, it set up its first office in Europe in Milton Keynes, UK. In 1997, it set up office in Toronto, Canada. In 2000, it opened offices in France and Hong Kong. In 2001, it opened offices in United Arab Emirates and Argentina. In 2002, it opened new offices in Netherlands, Singapore and Switzerland. In USA, its headquarters are at Fremont, California. It has offices in Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates and United States.

Currently, Infosys employs around 15,000 software professionals, working on varied areas like consulting, software and product development. The main office or development center is located at Electronic City, Bangalore which is one of the largest IT campuses in the world.

Most of the revenue is generated through Consulting and IT services. The key industries covered currently under this practice are:

Around 7000 professionals work at the Electronics City Campus in Bangalore. The campus boasts of amenities like food courts, super market, ATMs and bank extension counters, one of the largest gymnasiums in Asia and much more. (It even has a mini Golf course). It is a popular with the foreign dignitaries visiting Bangalore.

In 1997, it attained SEI-CMM level 5. In 2001 and again in 2002, it was rated Best Employer in India by Business Today and India's Most Respected Company by Business World.
