Imperial Death Squadron
The Imperial Death Squadron is the fleet of Darth Vader in the fictional Star Wars movies. It consisting of six Imperial Star Destroyers, including his own flagship The Executor. This fleet was employed in the blockade of the rebel occupied ice world of Hoth in the Empire Strikes Back.
Smaller ships delivered the troops and heavy armoured assault groups of AT-AT and AT-ST walkers to the surface for the ensuing ground battle against the Rebel base. The Rebel ground-based ion cannon manages to score a direct hit on one of these giant capital ships in the assault group, crippling it, as the rebels make their escape.
