Hamilton Tigers

Hamilton Tigers were a hockey team based in Hamilton, Ontario from 1920 to 1925. They had relocated from Quebec City, Quebec where, for the 1919-20 season, they were known as the Quebec Bulldogs. The team played in the National Hockey League. In 1925, on the eve of their first berth to the Stanley Cup championship, the players went on strike. In retaliation, the NHL suspended all the players, foreiting the league championship to the Montreal Canadiens. They moved out that year to become the New York Americans.

There was also a Canadian football team called the Hamilton Tigers. see Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
