Freie University
The Free University of Berlin (Freie Universität Berlin) is a
university in Berlin, Germany.
It was founded in 1948 by students and staff from the traditional Humboldt University, at that time controlled by the authorities in the Soviet sector. Today it is the largest of the city's three universities with about 42,700 students. Its main campus is located in the Dahlem district of the borough Steglitz-Zehlendorf, although many institutions are scattered throughout the city.
