Elnath (or El Nath), is a star in the constellationTaurus. Its Bayer designation is β Tau (Beta Tauri). Its apparent magnitude (visual brightness) is 1.7. Its distance from Earth is approximately 130 light-years. The star is close to the boundary of Taurus with the constellation of Auriga, and old star maps sometimes allocate it to that constellation instead.
