Edwin R. Thiele (1895-1986) was a missionary, writer, archaeologist, and professor of the Old Testament. He is best known for his doctoral dissertation, which gained recognition as an important work on early Hebrew chronology after being published under the title The Mysterious Numbers of the Hebrew Kings.
