County Limerick
County Limerick is an Irish county in the province of Munster.
Limerick (Luimneach in Irish) is on the west coast of Ireland with County Clare to the north, County Cork to the south and County Kerry to the west. The River Shannon flows into the Atlantic Ocean in the city of Limerick. Below Limerick, the waterway is known as the Shannon Estuary. Because the estuary is shallow, the county's most important port is several kilometres west of Limerick, at Foynes.
The City of Limerick is home to the well-known University of Limerick
Near to Limerick is the town of Shannon, Co. Clare, containing one of Ireland's major airports.
