Conveyor transport

Conveyor transport is the broad category of transport that includes modes developed from the idea of a conveyor belt. Examples include:

In Hong Kong, tens of thousands of commuters travel each work day between the Central District (a financial district) and the Mid Levels (a residential district hundreds of feet up Victoria Peak) using a long distance escalator/moving sidewalk combination. It goes only one way at a time; the direction reverses depending on rush hour traffic direction. See Transportation in Hong Kong.
