Changi

Changi was a prisoner of war camp used by Japan to hold Allied POWs during World War II. The Changi camp was situated in and around the former British Army barracks on the eastern peninsula of Singapore island. Originally Changi housed more than 150,000 POWs, but only about 10,000 survived to the end of the war. James Clavell is one of the most famous survivors. He wrote about his experences in the book King Rat.
