The Cebidae form one of the two familes of New World monkeys usually recognised.

The family contains as most widely recognised includes 11 genera organised into 6 subfamilies, though three of these are currently purely formal in that they contain only a single genus. Some authorities (e.g. ITIS) remove the subfamilies Callicebinae and Pitheciinae into a separate family, the Pitheciidae, while others place the Pitheciinae and Atelinae into a family Atelidae.
