Cap d'Agde, France

The quartier naturiste of Cap d'Agde (only a large sectioned-off part of the town is nudist) is one of the largest nudist resorts in the world, a popular place for naturists and sexually liberated adults alike.

A travel book called "The Naked Truth About Cap d'Agde" (by Ross Velton), published by Scarlett, Oh! Publishing (www.wordcrafting.com) details everything you need to know about this celebrated all-nudist resort town.

Pronunciation: Cap (what goes on your head) + dagged (one syllable).

Location: The quartier naturiste is on the northeastern edge of the town of Cap d'Agde, which is on the Mediterranean coast of France in the département of Hérault in the région of Languedoc and Roussillon.

Size: The nudist resort is the size of a small town, bordered by a 2km-long stretch of beach.

Population: Expect a total of around 300,000 people during the entire season. In the height of summer, as many as 60,000 people visit the resort at any one time.

Infrastructure: Within the nudist resort is a beach, port, campsite, apartment complexes, hotel, shops, restaurants, bars, post office, bank, petrol station, launderettes, hairdressers, tennis courts, and other such facilities.

Climate: Expect a Mediterranean climate: mild, rainy winters and hot, dry summers.

Time: GMT + 1 hour.

Money: Euro = 100 euro cents.

Season: Mid-March to mid-October.
