A campaign setting is a fictional world which serves as a setting for a fantasyrole-playing game, such as the Dungeons & Dragons game and other d20 System games. A campaign, in D&D terms, is a series of individual adventures, and a campaign setting is the world in which such adventures and campaigns take place. There are numerous campaign settings for the D&D game available, both in print and online, and most Dungeon Masters have at some point created one (or more) of their own.
