Billy-Montigny
Billy-Montigny is a city of northern France, in the département of Pas-de-Calais. It belongs to agglomeration of Lens-Liévin (http://www.agglo-lenslievin.fr) which gathers 36 communes, and has a population of 250,000 inhabitants.

History
The history of the area remains marked by mining catastrophes, such as the one of Courrières, which made 1,099 casualties on March 10, 1906 on the territories of Billy-Montigny, Méricourt and Sallaumines.
