Bachelor of Technology
A Bachelor of Technology is a former undergraduate academic degree in the UK.
It used to be awarded to those who had undertaken a Bachelor of Science degree with additional industrial placements. Due to the placements, the degree would normally take at least four years.
The degree is no longer awarded. Those who take such degrees now are normally just awarded a Bachelor of Science.
The official abbreviation of Bachelor of Technology is BTech (or BTech(Hons) if it is awarded with honours). Care should be taken not to confuse this with the comtemporary BTEC, which is a lesser qualification.
